Our design services are top-rate, responsive to your needs, and can be updated within 24 hours. We offer secure servers, cgi-bins, custom email addresses and/or mail forwarding, script capabilities, daily usage reports, and more. Plus we help promote your site through search engines, our family of sci-fi web sites (including Scifispace.com, Scifisource.com and this one), and more at no additional charge! Hosting fees start at $10 a month with a one-time setup and design fee of $100. We can give you your own domain (subject to availability and a one time setup of $100) or co-host here at Scificonventions.com (as www.scificonventions.com/yourcon/) for those concerned with budget or who are not holding a recurring event (we recommend annual conventions get their own domain name for better publicity exposure).
How important is a web site to a convention?
Having run conventions for many years, we know your show changes constantly! Printed flyers are often out-of-date as soon as they are printed as you will be adding or changing guests, events and more up to the start date of the show! Instead of trying to keep your printed flyers up-to-date, use them to refer people to your web site! And instead of a static flyer they may lose or forget about, draw them to a site that can be dynamic with information about your guests, sound, photos and video clips, programming schedules and more updated as often as every day! Use your site to gather an email mailing list of people interested in your show and send them regular updates! Draw people in with contests, games, and more to fit the theme of your show! It’s all possible on the web!
